Weaving the land
"Love Songs to Wild Earth… We listened to wind and water and the silence of places that are remote from human hearths; we gathered up threads and fragments of melodies and words from ocean and high loch and deep valley and ancient migration routes; then we brought these threads home and wove them into the Dartmoor landscape that we wear inside our bones. We sought music that would express our huge gratitude and ever-deepening love for the landscape where we roam; we made songs upon the wild earth’s loom." ~ Carolyn Hillyer and Nigel Shaw
The landscape has stories to tell. Tales that rekindle our deepest memory and reconnect our hearts to the ancient heartbeat of the wild land. Are we listening? Sometimes I imagine I 'feel' with the heart of the earth who sings her song and weaves her music regardless if anyone listens, yet acutely aware of a heart that does hear it, of a soul that reconnects and of a deep longing being touched and transformed. She can do it all on her own, for eons of time if must be, yet nothing compares to that sweet soulful joining of Song and Listener while they rekindle all life with their dance of Love and Life. Through the practice of Shamanic Dowsing I can feel both the Song and the Listener.
